Ys Housing 

Ys Housing is an architect-developer, working on the forefront of housing design and delivery in Melbourne, Australia. Role

We are seeking a talented registered Architect or Experienced Graduate with 3-7 years’ industry experience to join our team to help transform the housing system in Australia. The ideal candidate has:

  • Direct experience in housing design and delivery (at any scale) 

  • High technical aptitude; enjoys tinkering and experimenting with technology

  • Self-directed approach to learning and problem solving

  • Exceptional Revit documentation skills

  • Motivated to develop their craft in a collaborative, fast-paced environment 

  • Excellent communication skills, with sharp attention to detail

Projects

Our current projects include a mix of residential townhouses and apartments, both market housing and social housing, all in Victoria. In addition to our housing projects, we also undertake consultancy work related to housing economics and housing policy for government and not-for-profit clients.

The role involves working closely with the Design Director to maintain design intent and continuity throughout all stages of our projects, from conception through to technical resolution, construction through to completion.

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with the design director day-to-day

  • Create documentation in Revit to a rigorous level of detail in a timely manner

  • Coordinate and liaise with consultants, builders, authorities, suppliers, clients and residents

Opportunities

  • Work on social and affordable housing projects

  • Learn and manage all aspects of project delivery, especially construction 

  • Gain insight into property development

  • Mentoring to achieve architectural registration (if not already registered)

Location and Work Environment

Our studio is located near Reservoir Station, close to our current housing projects. This exciting opportunity is a full-time position. Salary above the award, commensurate with experience.
